When I first entered the competition it was simply because I loved my country and was equally as passionate about modelling so thought why not go for it! I could not make the London auditions and was pretty upset but I emailed the organiser Glorianne and wished them all the best. However she was not letting go that easy she organised 'Wild Card' auditions for contestants who could not make it and that is where I went to audition and was selected to go through to the semi-finals. (above is my semi-final picture).
Pageants are also associated with 'cat fights' and I had prepared myself for the worst to be honest. I was pleasantly suprised! Every girl there was a strong character and they were there for one reason, to represent our country in a positive light. Ngoni (2nd Princess) and myself got close very quickly, a graceful soul she was full of sarcasm and we hit it off, Patience was also a lil firework whose sense of humour had me giggling. (below myself and Ngoni, further down Patience).
Our Mentor Pamela Kaseke-Mushore was an absolute star! I have grown to love her like an older sister, she told us how to act and encouraged us in everything we did she is hilariousssss and also taught us how to enjoy our own company and value ourselves, she is now going to be a permanent fixture in my life.

The Semi-finals were nerve wrecking but there was a brilliant turn out, backstage was crazy with dresses flying off and people changing into new oufits. This is also the same time I got close to the Queen, Pearl Doherty the sweetest chick shes got such a big heart and was constantly talking about how much the pageant meant to her.

We had to showcase a talent, market a tourist resort and model some African attire. Our dresses were all by the brilliant designers Chenai Chick and Curvy Swan absoultely talented women and the outfits fit like a glove! Unfortuntely not everyone could get through and another fab chick who I had grown to love (Chelsea Mandizha) did not go through she is however the current Miss Teen Zimbabwe UK winner.

As a gift from Glo to us we were trained for 5hours by the award winning Catwalk Professor which was out of this world, we were taught how to sit, stand, eat, sneeze(yes sneeze), talk, laugh and walk like ladies everything from how to model evening wear swimwear to how to hold a red or white wine glass was covered and wow did we learn a lot ,all 5hours of training were in heels (killa) and we had a total of about 30mins break loool if you have ever been trained by the Catwalk Professor you will know not to ask for a break he is passionate and serious about what he does, his so fierce we could not help but admire his walk,he could put any woman to shame with his walk!
We also had the priviledge of attending a film premier for the South African movie 'Paradise Stop' hilarious film and a must watch!
The Finalists at the Film Premier
The finals were held on Saturday 10th September and boy were the preparations hectic! We had to have african wear, evening wear, swimwear, clothes for our talent and business wear! I don't think any of the finalists had a wink of sleep! I was up at 6am, finishing my powerpoint presentation, making sure my clothes were ironed and I had every piece of jewellry I needed, I also had to sort out my family and friends tickets (my family arrived on the 10th at 7am from Zimbabwe and came to support later in the evening).
The following are pictures of the show!
